I’m going to die. There. I said it. But guess what, so are you. And as morbid as that realization is, it can also be quite a powerful one as well. As such, here’s an excerpt of a quote by Steve Jobs:

“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life…There is no reason not to follow your heart…”

Now tragically, Steve did not do everything in his power to extend his own life as he battled cancer, which he later regretted. However, he said this quote quite early on his career, which seemed to really emulate how he lived his life. He’s arguably one of the greatest men to have ever lived (regardless of where you stand on his verbally abusive character). And he accomplished a great deal after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. No doubt this is something that further motivated Steve and his day-to-day actions with Apple and other ventures. Now, where am I going with this you might ask? With everything going on during quarantine, I’ve never had so much time for self-reflection. But that only gets you so far. Why not project towards the future instead?

So I did. And in doing so, I stumbled across a video on Matt D’Avella’s titled “Watch This Video Before You Die”. This video features the guest, Ben Nemtin, part of The Buried Life Crew. The Buried Life Crew is known for curating their own bucket list and traveling around the country in a bus in order to complete as many as possible while helping others reach their bucket list items along the way. So after pausing the video at 5:48 out of 9:57, I decided to try and curate my very own list. It’d only take about fifteen-minutes, right? Maybe a half hour at the most. If you think this, then you’re just as ignorant as I was.

The first 25 came super quick and easy to me. The next ten still easy, but not quite so free-flowing. Once I hit 50, it was like “Damn, I’ve still got 50 more to go! And I’ve been at it for forty-five-minutes already!” The next 50 took me another hour and fifteen or so to complete. It’s now two hours later and I’ve just wrapping up my list. The point is that we often hear about having a bucket list, but who really has 100 items at the ready? If you do, you’re one of the few that I’ve encountered. I honestly didn’t have any written down prior to this. Shame on me, and probably rightfully so. You might have really basic things down which are more on a micro level such as trying new foods. But why not in a new country or place?

I challenged myself to complete this list, and I challenge you to do the same. And please, share it with others. You surely discovered something about yourself, and others surely will as well. Besides, you’re really not going to accomplish at least some of your bucket list items without outside help. I’m sure as hell not going to walk on the moon without a team of people. Not unless of course that involves me blowing myself up during my initial rocket testing, and hoping some of my matter reaches the ether. But I digress. Without further ado, I present my personal bucket list.

I graduated from Central Columbia High School in 2006, and from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2008. I’ve worked primarily as a CAD Design Technician since graduating, holding a couple of odd jobs in-between employment in my field of study.
