The Cabin’s Secret (Original draft from 2021 1125)

The days – they’re all beginning to run together now. The nights – evermore so. If it wasn’t for counting the has marks on these here bottles, I’d feel as though I was going a bit mad. Thank heaven for my driver for he provided an alcoholic such as me with more than an ample supply to survive the harsh winter here in the mountains of Pennsylvania. This winter has been particularly troublesome. I’ll soon have to start throwing in any nonsensical pager from this here typewriter if I cut into my firewood supply more so than I already have for the allotted date that I should currently be sitting at. I already have of schedule, running nearly 2-weeks ahead of it, according to these here hash marks on my bottles. I best be praying this storm I’ve been hearing about dies down, although it feels like it’ll be even worse. My food rations are thankfully also in ample supply, but that won’t do me much good if I freeze to death first. Thank the heavens once more for this here’re whiskey and her friend bourbon. A finder couple has nev ear existed. I should know I’ve dated them all, and never could find a pair quite to match as these two have. I’ve developed a sort of blend myself. Perhaps I out to patent it after I get finished with this here next great American Novel. But alas. Some of those bottles from years past have been more favorable memories than others. That’s how I’m beginning to feel about this here trip. Only 10-more days left, but it feels I’ve been here for months. If not for these has marks on these here bottles, I’d feel as though I was going a bit mad.

Author’s Note:
I had originally titled this The Typewriter’s Secret where the typewriter was to be the main “suspect”.
