A Dark Portrait of Life Painted in Color

Wonka

Mr. Wonka,

It appears that you’ve ignored my first message to you, after experiencing more of the same. Prior to you getting sober, this is how we used to communicate. Do you recall? No? Okay, well let me refresh your memory. I was at an age where I was looking to my father to best help steer my direction in life. This was an impossible task for you, however, as you were often found in your chair, passed out from what must have been an exhausting conversation between you and the bottle. I remember you getting so full off of your drink, that you would fall off of your office chair, and attempt to stumble up the stairs, laughing your way onto your family room chair; as you failed to make it up to the second floor. I can recall you laughing so hard upon falling, that it hurt for the rest of us to hear, because we knew that you were so “fucked up”, that you would’ve continued this behavior, had you been allowed.  Instead of facing your behavior, I turned and ran. Perhaps this was equally as childish on my part, but I was in fact only a child at the time this all occurred. In running, I discovered music, which would have a much more positive effect on my life then my current state. There is much more to this story, but due to my 30-second increments, this will have to do for now.

I’m a father, musician, artist, writer, photographer, designer, and storyteller – among other things. I graduated from Central Columbia High School in 2006, and from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2008. I’ve worked primarily as a CAD Design Technician since graduating, holding a couple of odd jobs in-between employment in my field of study. I’ve lived in just about every region of Pennsylvania, having grown up in Berwick, my secondary education held in Williamsport, and then moving for work back to Williamsport, then to Jersey Shore, to Lebanon, and finally to Cornwall, where I live in my home with my son, part-time.
