The Shades of JP Weidemoyer

A Dark Portrait of Life Painted in Color

musician

Maggots

It’s been a “hot minute” since I’ve posted to this blog. That said, I’m currently posting the heaviest song I’ve ever written. Lyrically, musically, and spiritually speaking.

This song stands for everything I stand up against. As a single Father, this story literally broke my heart to read (as displayed in my photo). It’s taken me four days to complete (which usually under this particular banner only takes me a single day).

I’ve written some extremely “heavy” lyrics before, but all of which were personal. This one just strikes a different chord for me, however. This story quite literally made me sick. I’ve never felt so much anger against a human life as I did upon reading this. I tried to convey that in the song, as well as the social media presence behind it.

I leave you with this – like I suggest in my social media photo – dedicated to: everyone out there who has ever felt resentment towards their own child. There are options other than the one exemplified in this song. Get. Fucking. Help. Pray to whatever you wish to believe, but please don’t take the life of someone who was made in the image of you…

I’m a father, musician, artist, writer, photographer, designer, and storyteller – among other things. I graduated from Central Columbia High School in 2006, and from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2008. I’ve worked primarily as a CAD Design Technician since graduating, holding a couple of odd jobs in-between employment in my field of study. I’ve lived in just about every region of Pennsylvania, having grown up in Berwick, my secondary education held in Williamsport, and then moving for work back to Williamsport, then to Jersey Shore, to Lebanon, and finally to Cornwall, where I live in my home with my son, part-time. Feel free to reach me at jp (at) jpweidemoyer.com. Thanks, and be well.
