A Dark Portrait of Life Painted in Color

My laptop battery is completely drained. If I so much as pull the plug from the wall charger, it shuts off. The low-battery now flashes even while being plugged in for recharging. This got me thinking. This is no different from us. Often we are completely drained, our low-battery lights often flashing on full display as well. Be it from an exceptionally long day at work, numerous activities going on with our children or other family members, too many social occasions to attend with friends. Life, simply put, can be draining. And so often once the plug is pulled from our “wall charger” we too, shut off. Without this life support, so to speak, we would cease to exist. Don’t let your battery be so completely damaged, that you would shutoff within seconds of being unplugged. Find comfort in enjoying the little things in life. Even if this means watching the little ladybug crawl from one end of the park bench to the other. Life is a long ride, but it doesn’t mean you have to spend its entirety at full speed, thinking that you’ll miss out on something otherwise. Slow down. Get off at a rest stop once in a while. Recharge.
